It is hoped that the Legal eXchange will be able to offer something unique... Not just information, but inside information... facts and opinions that simply wouldn't or couldn't be published. To do this our most basic records need to be accurate.
One reason for providing this research page is to assist our Members in providing US with accurate information. Correctly spelled names and addresses are essential to efficient and rapid searches and greatly assist other Members. Other reasons to research legal professionals might be: -
|
Anyone choosing and using a solicitor would be wise to do as much research as possible before making a decision. If this is you please read this.
|
Litigants In Person and even represented people might well benefit from learning more about their opponents and their judges. Being informed can only help when it comes to planning and decision making.
|
Even the most basic searches can sometimes turn up additional, useful or surprising information. Public domain information can be linked on our "calling cards" to build a useful and comprehensive profile of the individual. Useful to you and useful to others.
Anyone who has a problem with a legal professional will want to do as much research as possible. Building a comprehensive record will help you... it may help others and encourage more people to contact you. |
At the end of this page is a list of other research resources - click here. Basic research topics are linked in the list below. This information is far from complete and all contributions, links and suggestions will be most welcome mailto:research@legalxchange.co.uk

Sharing information saves wasted time and effort. Comparing notes with others could help you or someone else to make the right choice. It could make a tremendous difference to the successful outcome of any dispute. Information is King. Wasted time, effort and being kept in the dark is why so many people fail - this is why the rogues play for time, drag things out and hope you'll finally give up. Better by far is to avoid the rogues completely. Information is King and key.

Judges - Information and Search Tools
Does anyone know of a really good description of the judicial system in any of the areas we hope to cover? Would anyone care to write one? Please email me. Until then, please feel free to criticise or suggest improvements and corrections to this layman's view...
There are many types of judges sitting in our Courts. For a description of some of the weird and wonderful titles they have to remind us all (and probably themselves) how "special" they are click here.

Also rather out of date but may get updated by some public-spirited individual - Good Ol' Wikipedia

Help wanted and a really good description of the structure and hierarchy needed. Can you help?
The links below mostly repeat the (fairly glib) links in the Judges section above. Have a poke around and you might find what you are looking for. Also, these sites seem to be evolving and becoming better and more comprehensive so this may be out of date by the time you read it :-)
