The Member Ratings and the traffic light should NOT be regarded as evidence that a particular legal professional or Firm is GOOD or BAD. We would ALWAYS recommend that you contact the Member(s) concerned via private e-mail BEFORE you consider using a legal professional. The Member Rating is provided to help you gauge the type of information you may receive - but it is NO substitute for ASKING.
Members who express an interest in an individual or Firm and say that they have personal experience of the individual are asked to give an optional rating.
"In the main, is your experience or opinion of this Individual of Firm..."
Neutral,
Mixed or No opinion
Good,
Very Good or Excellent
Bad, Very
Bad or Appalling
If the Member declines to answer or does not have personal experience then a vote of NEUTRAL (0) is registered. A POSITIVE rating (1) or a NEGATIVE rating (-1) indicate GOOD or BAD experiences or opinions respectively. These "scores" are added to give the final "Member Rating" Each Member gets ONE vote ONLY. Therefore it takes more than one Member to give a really good (2, 3 or more) or a really bad (-2, -3 or less) rating.
A simple traffic light symbol is assigned to ratings as follows...
| Negative Rating (<0) | Neutral Rating (0) | Positive Rating (>0) |

Expect to receive a less than glowing report from at least one Member. Probably some complaints or reports of serious misconduct, poor service, dishonesty etc. ... but DON'T guess - ASK. A rating of -2 or -3 suggests you will receive a number of bad reports. |
Expect to receive either a mixed report or differing reports. Members who do not have experience of this Firm or Individual also register a Neutral Rating. If more than one Member is offering information you may get a good report from one and a bad report from another. |
Expect to receive predominantly good reports from Members offering information. Good reports are no guarantee of competence, good service or honesty. Remember to ASK what area of law was being represented... expertise in one field does not necessarily carry over. |
And that's IT really.... If in doubt... ASK! That's what we're all here for. Membership and asking are FREE! Not already a Member? ... Please join.
